Sam

A professional hair stylist for more than 20 years, and with plenty of awards to her name, Sam runs this beautiful salon. She keeps her hand in the game on the floor still too, doing what she loves the most. For Sam, it is a passion. She says it’s about building relationships and contouring the style that perfectly suits each individual client. For a healthy body and mind, Sam loves to exercise. She enjoys her early morning sessions at the gym or going up beautiful Mount Maunganui to see the sunrise. It’s what keeps her focussed and super energised.

Freya

According to Freya, the best things about working at Shine Hair Co in no particular order are the team, the clients and making people feel amazing. She decided to become a hair stylist as she watched her ex-mother in-law at work in her home salon thinking “I want to do that!” In her free time, Freya loves to hang out with friends or listen to music. She’s a musical girl herself as she sings, plays guitar, ukulele and the violin. Her plant obsession also gets a lot of her attention, but most of all her son. ‘I am super proud of him’

Tyla

She’s caring, creative, outgoing and edgy, but more importantly, Tyla knows how to carefully listen to what her clients want and need. She’s become a hair stylist as creating different looks and styles for her younger sisters and her friends is something she has always enjoyed. She says it gives her an opportunity to express herself and create, as well as learning new things while working alongside the team. Another way Tyla loves to express her creative self is through what she wears. She has a love for hats, and 98% of her wardrobe are op-shop treasures.

Hannah

On Maternity Leave, returning Dec 7th.

The gorgeous Hannah loves making people feel beautiful and glow like their best self. Before she discovered hairdressing, Hannah worked as a make-up artist and she has a great eye for creating that perfect look. When not at work, she gets excited about road trips, and she enjoys spending quality time with her partner, their little boy, and the family’s playful rescue dog. She is looking forward to taking her son for a visit to her native South Africa sometime, to meet up with family there and for him to get a taste of the culture.
